[PHOTOS] Uhuru arrives in Rwanda for Commonwealth meeting

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday arrived at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda for the 26th 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.

He was received by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland, Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo and Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK Manoah Esipisu. 

Senior officials of the Rwandan Government were also present at the airport for his Thursday evening arrival.

The meeting is the first to be held since 2018 in London, after the 2020 and 2021 was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The meeting brings together delegates from 54 Commonwealth member countries.

"During the meeting, they will discuss and address global issues and Commonwealth priorities," State House spokesperson Kanze Dena said.

The theme of the meeting is ‘Delivering a common future: connecting, innovating and transforming’.
