Kenyan activists have started 16 days of activism to end Gender-Based Violence in the country.
Several leaders attended the event that took place at the KICC on Tuesday night.
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris said during the launch of the Orange world at the KICC building.
Passaris said that Gender-Based Violence will only end in the country if there is a participatory approach from key sectors in the government.
“Let’s cut that everything that gives low self-esteem character power, including the social media.”
UN Women Country Director Ann Mutavati said that everybody should be involved in mitigating the vice in society.
Head of Cooperation Kenya Counselor, Gender and Governance Anu Ala-Rantala said that GBV also exists in virtual space.
