Kenya on Wednesday recorded 1,523 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's case load to 141,365, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.
The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 7,423, recording a positivity rate of 20.5 per cent.
The cumulative tests stand at 1,530,736.
The country's fatalities have risen to 2,276 after another 18 patients succumbed to the disease on diverse date over a one month period.
Kagwe said that there are 1,591 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 6,112 patients are on the home-based care programme.
A total of 236 patients are in ICU, out of which 53 are on ventilatory support.
Also, 253 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 238 are in general wards and 15 in the HDU.
Meanwhile, 616 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 522 were from the home-based care programme, while 94 were discharged from various health facilities.
Kenya's recoveries now stand at 97,194.
On vaccination, the CS said 339,893 people had been vaccinated as of Tuesday. From this, 99,084 are health workers, 27,945 security officers, 45,877 teachers and 166,987 other members of the public.
At least 228 people have received the Sputnik V vaccine.
