Residents at Chesiywo village Mt Elgon Constituency woke up to a rude shock after one family lost three children while parents sustained serious injuries after the house they were sleeping in collapsed due to a heavy downpour that was experienced on Tuesday night.

“The bizarre incident has left us in great shock because one family losing three children is the most painful experience, let us pray for those affected,” Maasai said.

Additionally, Maasai says that with the heavy downpour, many Mt Elgon residents are living in fear because of the region’s terrain.

Maasai notes that after the incident, their father was rushed to Dreamland Hospital in Kimilili but later referred to Bungoma County Referral Hospital (BCRH) for advanced medical attention.
