- On sunday, county ODM chairman Ali Mutoka said the incident was uncalled off and can't be accepted in modern politics.
- Uasin Gishu county commissioner Stephen Kihara said those arrested have provided the police with crucial information on the incident.
ODM officials in Bungoma county have condemned the attack on party leader Raila Odinga in Uasin Gishu.
Raila's chopper was on Friday pelted with stones after he arrived at the burial of Jackson Kibor.
On Sunday, county ODM chairman Ali Mutoka said the incident was uncalled for and can't be accepted in modern politics.
"It's very saddening that Raila who has been fighting for democracy in this country can be pelted with stones in Uasin Gishu at a funeral of his friend," he said.
"We want police to arrest those behind the attack."
Mutoka also said ODM will not hold nominations but shall focus more on consensus.
"Nine constituencies have agreed that we shall not have nomination but consensus on who will fly the party's flag," he said.
He said there are many small parties in Bungoma that want to interfere with the ODM nominations.
"Our party is founded on dialogue and we want to ensure that prevails," he said.
He said ODM will field aspirants in all other posts except gubernatorial candidate where they will support DAP-K aspirant Governor Wycliffe Wangamati.
Hilda Sianga, ODM nominated MCA said they want the police to take actions on the Kenyans who threw stones at Raila.
"We know that when political violence occurs it's women and children who suffer the most and we don't want to go that route," Sianga said.
"We need peaceful campaigns and we are asking Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to ensure those involved are apprehended."
So far 17 suspects have been arrested over the incident.
Uasin Gishu county commissioner Stephen Kihara said those arrested have provided the police with crucial information on the incident.
Kihara said key political leaders in the region have been linked to planning the incident.
