Bungoma deputy governor Ngome  Kibanani has decamped from Ford-Kenya to UDA and declared interest to vie for Bungoma senator.

Speaking while meeting a group of youths in Webuye on Thursday, Ngome blamed Wetang'ula for the under development in the region saying it was a high time he is voted out.

"I have already spoken to governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi who have given me a go ahead to join UDA," Ngome said.

He however was quick to clarify that both Wangamati and Wamunyinyi are yet to decide which party they will use to defend their seats.

The deputy governor said before leaving Ford Kenya party, they will ensure they destroy it and leave Wetang'ula with nothing.

"When you are a woman and you build a house with a man, when you divorce, ensure you destroy it so that everyone starts a new," Ngome said.

Wangamati, Ngome, Wamunyinyi and Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu have been leading an onslaught against Wetang'ula's leadership in the Ford Kenya party.

They were involved in a coup attempt.

Ngome said Ford Kenya, a party that propelled them to leadership, was a dead party.

Ngome's move to join UDA has brought speculations that governor Wangamati and the Wamunyinyi-led Ford Kenya faction, could be headed to Deputy President William Ruto's UDA party.

"Their body language has been showing that they have been warning up to the DP," political commentator Isaac Wanjekeche said.

Wanjekeche said the reason they have been mark timing could be the political persecution that close allies to the DP have been facing.

"I can assure you that they have only been mark timing fearing the deep state, but seems there calculation is ripe now to join him," he said.

Ngome at the same time said he was sure of winning the Bungoma senatorial race.

Others who have declared interest for the seat include  Dr Juma Mukhwana Director General and CEO of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority and politician Jacob Machacha.
