The national government will help establish a new Sh2 billion complex at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital in Nandi county.
The new project is part of a partnership with the county government to upgrade the hospital and improve access to healthcare in the region.
A technical team from the Department of Defence paid a courtesy call on Governor Stephen Sang to initiate the planning of the new hospital block.
The meeting was held at the governor’s office and later the team visited the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.
The move follows a Presidential directive issued two weeks ago mandating the construction of the new facility to enhance healthcare services.
Governor Sang hailed the project as a significant boost to the county’s healthcare capacity.
