The county chief described the budget as a strategic framework aimed at accelerating socio-economic transformation and improving the quality of life for all residents.

“Through this budget, we intend to accelerate the implementation of projects that are geared towards economic empowerment of our people," Kachapin said.

He termed the budget as a blueprint for transformation in the partly semi-arid county.

“The budget addresses pressing needs of our people while laying the foundation for long-term prosperity,” Kachapin said.

Key priority areas in the document include healthcare, especially the expansion and equipping of health facilities to enhance access and improve the quality of healthcare services.

In education, it also prioritises investment in school infrastructure and provision of learning materials to boost quality education.

Kachapin said strengthening support for farmers through access to modern inputs and extension services would also help transform the agriculture sector.

The county is also seeking to expand road Infrastructure, with continued improvement of rural and urban roads to enhance mobility and connectivity.

Kachapin said the county had also planed to focus on youth empowerment through implementation of programmes focused on skills training, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and efficient use of public resources to ensure the budget delivers maximum impact.

“We are committed to delivering tangible results. Every shilling will be accounted for, and every project will be aligned with our people’s needs,” he said

The governor has asked his team of executives and other staff to ensure that all lined up projects in the budget will be fully implemented.

Kachapin is doing his second term as governor and he is working to complete some of the legacy projects he has initiated in the region.
