Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi is now targeting to empower Gen Z in his constituency through the construction of multi-million shilling ICT-equipped libraries.

This comes after his recent publicised empowerment programme in the area where he distributed cash and equipment valued at over Sh77 million.

Sudi said he was mobilising friends and well-wishers to start the construction of the ICT libraries in each of the wards.

“We already have the plan in place and once completed, the young people will be able to go there and use the Internet for self-empowerment,” he said.

The MP said the youth would be able to read, research and do other beneficial activities at the hubs, which will also be equipped with conference facilities.

“We have to ensure our youth are not left behind in the plans or development activities we are implementing,” Sudi said.

The legislator spoke during distribution of cheques for his constituency Uwezo Groups who received Sh4.7 million.

Sudi said many critics had dismissed him as an academic dwarf but said he was blessed with inborn knowledge which enabled him to serve his people effectively.

“I mix my little knowledge with that from the degree holders from my constituents and together, we are able to move forward with unique development programmes.”

The MP accused some opposition leaders of being envious of his development programmes yet they waste time politicking.

Sudi accused former DP Rigathi Gachagua of harbouring hatred and tribal feelings that disqualify him from being a leader in the country.

“Everyday he wakes up dreaming about (President William)Ruto and wastes time making noise all over because he has nothing else to do as Ruto serves the country,” Sudi said.

The MP said Ruto had achieved a lot in the last two years and there was no way Kenyans would be convinced to reject him during the next elections.

He accused Gachagua of being against all forms of development, including empowerment programmes meant to benefit hustlers.

Sudi defended his recent empowerment initiative where he distributed equipment and material worth over Sh45 million and also raised over Sh35 million in cash.

He said of the cash raised, Sh20 million had been distributed to small scale traders in the area including mama mboga and other hustlers.

“The remaining Sh15 million will be distributed under other empowerment programmes to benefit the people of Kapseret.”

He said his constituents had elected him three times and he had no other role than to serve them well.

“I want to make this constituency to be the best and at the end everyone will have money in their pockets,” Sudi said.

He promised to look for more friends who would fundraise to enable him to implement more empowerment initiatives for his constituents.
