 Former Maendeleo ya Wanawake National Chairperson Dr Zipporah Kittony has sent a condolences message to the family of Kenya's third President Emilio Mwai Kibaki following his death on Friday. 

Speaking to the Star in her Kitale Office shortly after the news emerged,  Kittony described Former President Kibaki as a passionate and hardworking public servant who gave himself for the Country. 

She said Kenyans, especially the women, will remember the late President for his unrivalled contribution to development especially his remarkable contribution to job creation and infrastructure development. 

"On this sad occasion, I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to the family of the great patriarch, the late Mwai Kibaki," she said. 

Kittony said she worked closely with the late President in various capacities and came to know him as a man with pragmatic leadership. 

She prayed to God to rest his soul in eternal glory.  

Dr Kittony said those who knew the late President Kibaki can testify to his efforts to unite the country.

"Many Kenyans who enjoyed his humour will forever remember him for his Kumbaf, Hakuna haja and mafi ya kuku sayings," she said. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta announced Kibaki's death on Friday.

A state funeral will be held in his honour accompanied with full of military honours.

A committee in charge of the funeral has already been formed and will convene its first meeting on Saturday.
