Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi has said he is ready to face former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for the ODM presidential ticket in the 2022 elections.

Wanjigi spoke on Friday when he opened an ODM office in Matasia Ngong.

He said nothing will hinder him from contesting in the next general election.

“I am confident the party primaries will be free and fair,  and I am sure I will win against Raila, it is the right time we change the party leadership,” Wanjigi said.

He said he is not intimidated by reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta may have settled on Raila as his preferred candidate saying the will of Kenyans will prevail in the nominations.

Wanjigi welcomed Kenyatta to join ODM and drum up support for Raila while in the party saying it would be very commendable.

“It is a democratic right for President Kenyatta to say he will support Raila to be president, however.  I am inviting him (president) to join our party so that he can be a member,”  Wanjigi said.

He said he will lead the ODM campaign across the country to increase the membership to ensure it delivers the next president.
