3 pupils killed in Kuresoi school after lightning strikes building

Three pupils were killed and 51 others injured on Thursday when lightning struck their school in Kuresoi.

The incident at Mkulima Primary School in Kuresoi North left four other pupils critically injured.

The four were taken to Nakuru Level Five Hospital, while the other injured are being treated at Kuresoi North Health Centre.

County director of health Samuel King'ori said the critically injured suffered burns. 

He said those taken to Kuresoi North Health Centre are being watched overnight, but are in stable condition.

Governor Lee Kinyanjui sent a message of condolence to the deceased pupils' families.

He said two ambulances were dispatched to transfer the four pupils who were critically injured.

Kinyanjui added that department of Health also dispatched a team of clinical officers and nurses to Kuresoi Health Centre where 30 others are admitted.
