Cherangany MP Wesley Korir has defected to the Jubilee Party.
Korir was elected as an independent candidate in 2013.
On Saturday, he was among those paraded by Jubilee as among key defectors who joined the new outfit.
The entry of the Boston Marathon Champion to Jubilee has set the stage for a major political duel in the cosmopolitan constituency with State House Adviser Joshua Kutuny also announcing he will stand for MP.
Kutuny is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and and the front runner in the contest.
