I serve entire county equally, says Mandago

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has dismissed claims he has marginalised parts of the county in terms of employment.

He said the claims that he has sidelined Turbo subcounty are not true.

“I treat them as rumours since I have not sidelined any region in my county. There are people who have started their campaigns early and it is not good for the county's development. Turbo subcounty has been complaining that they have been left out,” Mandago said.

He was speaking on Sunday during the finals of the Governors’ Cup finals at Eldoret Polytechnic.

“I spread resources and opportunities equitably across this county. I have no business marginalising any part of my county,” the governor said.

He said Turbo subcounty has three chief officers and an executive in his government.

“The Health executive and his chief officer come from Turbo and Kapsaos while chief officers for Education, Culture and Social Services are from Tapsagoi and the one in charge of Youth affairs is from Ng’enyinlel, all in Turbo subcounty. So, those people propagating lies should stop,” Mandago said.

“I am also trying to create more jobs through several projects we have initiated.”

He said his vision is focused on the county as a whole and there is no way he could leave any part out.

Mandago said next year's elections is around the corner and he believes he has improved the county’s economy and deserves another term.

He said he will organise for subcounty youth forums and parade his executives for the youth to ask them if they have given 30 per cent of the contracts to the youth and women as stipulated in the constitution.
