Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot.

Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot has said he does not regret voting for William Ruto as the President.

Speaking during an interview on K24 on Tuesday, Aukot however said despite voting for Ruto, it does not mean he is silenced from criticizing him as the president.

"At election time, every Kenyan must make a decision. I do not regret that I voted for William Ruto but that does not mean I cannot criticize him. We want leaders to be held accountable," Aukot said.

He said calling out leaders when they make mistakes is the obligation and civic duty of every Kenyan.

Aukot said any leader who fails to commit to their promises and duties should be held accountable as he sees no reason as to why they should not be criticized about it.

"When he continues not to implement the things that he had promised to do I cannot keep quiet about it. It is being responsible," Aukot said.

He noted that there should be a rule implemented in Kenya where leaders are held accountable for the promises they fail to fulfill.

"We want to see an example in Kenya where leaders are held accountable and responsible for what they say," he said.
