Kisii residents express satisfaction with IEBC

Say the process of relaying votes to the Bomas national tallying centre is satisfactory

Kisii residents residents are impressed by the transmission of the presidential preliminary results.

Residents who spoke to the Star said they are optimistic that transparency will also be observed during the final tally.

They said the process of relaying votes to the Bomas national tallying centre is satisfactory.

Magogo Morike said he is happy with the manner in which presidential votes are being relayed to the national tally centre.

He said the process is transparent.

"I urge those contesting for the presidency to give IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati enough time to perform his duties and deliver credible election," Morike said. 

He also said there is need for Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga to respect the will of the people, after the final tallying.

Mzee Bosire Morang'a 82 said Kenyans shouldn't be divided based on their political affiliations.

The former military officer said any country will thrive in a politically stable environment.

"Kenyans need to embrace peace despite their political affiliations during the concluded general election," Morang'a said.

Meanwhile, IEBC officials from various constituencies are queueing in various tallying centres to deliver polling materials.

A spot check at Nyaribari Chache constituency tallying centre at Kisii School revealed long queues.

The officials had finished filling presidential, governor, MP, senatorial, woman rep and MCA results in the required forms.

By the time of going to press, the officials were enduring the scorching sun to deliver the materials.
