Ahadi Kenya Trust has urged county governments to list schools whose students have jiggers to enable the organisation to reach them.

Ahadi Kenya ambassador Cecilia Mwangi urged county governments to liaise with head teachers and other education stakeholders to eradicate jigger infestation.

Speaking at Miwani Estate Primary School in Kisumu town on Friday, she said some leaders associate jiggers with a particular community. “Jiggers do not affect people from a particular community, social class or religion. They can affect anyone.”

Ahadi Kenya donated 6,000 pairs of shoes and slippers to learners in 10 primary schools from Muhoroni subcounty.
