Support for President William Ruto’s reelection is growing in the Northeastern region following the government's sustained development projects, Eldas MP Adan Keynan has said.
Keynan said communities in the region remain firmly united behind the President, citing the administration's commitment to addressing long-standing development challenges and expanding opportunities for local communities.
He spoke on
Wednesday when he paid a courtesy call on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) secretary general Hassan Omar, at his
office at Hustler Plaza in Nairobi.
The meeting came in the wake of the historic Madaraka Day celebrations held in Wajir county and the successful tour of Northern Kenya by the President, including a visit to Eldas constituency on June 2.
During the discussions, Keynan briefed Omar on the overwhelming feedback received from residents across Northern Kenya following the President's visit.
He said residents remain firmly united behind President William Ruto and his re-election bid.
Keynan expressed confidence that the President's growing popularity in the region is anchored on the tangible development projects being implemented across Northern Eastern region.
He said ongoing investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, water, and economic empowerment initiatives have strengthened public trust in the government's agenda and will significantly contribute to President Ruto's re-election for a second term.
"The people of Northern Kenya have witnessed a transformative development agenda that is changing lives and opening up new opportunities. The support for President Ruto continues to grow because citizens can see and feel the impact of his leadership," Keynan said.
“On
behalf of my colleagues in Northern Kenya, I want to give an assurance that we
will continue to closely partner with the national government to advance its development agenda, and consolidate support
for UDA as it continues to champion transformative leadership and inclusive
development across the country.”

Omar commended the people of
North Eastern for their continued support and reaffirmed the government's
commitment to inclusive national development.
He underscored President Ruto's determination to transform historically marginalised regions through targeted investments, improved infrastructure, and expanded economic opportunities.
Omar said the government's development blueprint is founded on the principles of equity, inclusion, and shared prosperity that ensures every corner of the country benefits from Kenya's growth and progress.
During his recent tour in Eldas, President Ruto urged Keynan who was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket to join the ruling UDA.
The fifth-term lawmaker, who also chairs the Northern Kenya Parliamentary Group has remained a prominent and a respected figure in the region.
The meeting, underscores growing momentum behind UDA’s influence in the area, with several leaders attributing the Ruto’s popularity to ongoing development projects and a commitment to uplift historically marginalised regions.
During his visit, Ruto traversed Wajir and Garissa counties, where he launched, commissioned and inspected development projects aimed at accelerating socio-economic growth and improving livelihoods.
A major highlight of the visit was his leading the nation in celebrating the 63rd Madaraka Day at Wajir Stadium — the first time in Kenya’s history that the national event had been hosted in the North Eastern region.
The celebrations symbolised a significant shift towards greater national inclusion and recognition of a region that has long remained on the margins of development.
