Wajirovernor Ahmed Abdullahi on Saturday urged the new members of the County Public Service Board to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness in all their undertakings.

He said residents expect high levels of integrity, and their work must be above board.

He spoke when he presided over the swearing in of Abdi Adan Ahmed (chairperson), Mohamed Adow Abdi (secretary) and members Osman Abdi, Farhiya Abirahman, Siyat Dakat, Abdi Hassan Ali and Amina Yussuf.

“Let every decision you make be guided by the principles of justice and public interest. We must work together to streamline our human resource systems, eliminate inefficiencies, and nurture a workforce that is motivated, competent, and ethical,” Abdullahi said.

Abdullahi said his administration remains fully committed to supporting the new board to execute its  responsibilities, adding that he has full confidence in its collective abilities and experience.

"It's your duty to ensure the expectations of our people are met through the establishment of prudent human resource management, including a measured performance of employees and enhanced training and development," he said.

The governor used the opportunity to thank the outgoing members of the board for their service.

Abdi Adan Ahmed, the new board chairman, thanked the governor and the assembly for bestowing their trust in them and promised to ensure that they give their best.

"On behalf of my colleagues, I thank the governor and assembly members for giving us the opportunity to spearhead this very important board. We're alive to the fact that the task ahead of us is huge, but one which we believe we are up to," he said.

The County Public Service Board occupies a central role in the county’s governance architecture.

It is entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that public service remains professional, efficient, and accountable.

The board is the custodian of fairness and merit in the recruitment, promotion, and management of the county’s human capital.
