Eldas MP Adan Keynan has praised Northeastern leaders for turning up for Deputy President Kithure Kindiki's tour of the region.

He said the move signaled unity and commitment to work with the government.

On Monday, Keynan, who is the chairman of the Northern Kenya Parliamentary Group, said they have no apologies to make for their political stand.

He said their support for President Ruto is grounded in trust, experience and demonstrable progress.

“Our united presence in Garissa, Wajir and Mandera counties stands as a clear signal of renewed commitment to work hand-in-hand with the government to redesign our development trajectory and unlock a future of shared prosperity for the region,” Keynan said.

“As leaders we have every reason to support President William Ruto’s administration because he has shown his willingness to spur our region’s development by investing in infrastructure, education, security and economic empowerment across northern Kenya."

Kindiki and his team toured Northeastern counties over the weekend and held empowerment fundraisers.

The DP promised to launch more development projects that will improve the lives of residents.

Keynan said the empowerment drives reaffirm region’s integral place in the national development agenda.

“These initiatives are a broader effort to strengthen economic empowerment and foster inclusive growth. They underscore the importance of partnering with the national government, building trust, expanding strategic collaborations and creating opportunities that uplift livelihoods while accelerating socio-economic progress,” he said.

While in Modogashe town in Garissa county, Kindiki said the government is committed towards ensuring equal distribution of resources and development projects in all parts of the country.

"There have been many governments. This is the fifth government and there has been no other government that has brought equality to Kenyans the way President Ruto has. The President will be remembered for uniting the country and developing areas that had been marginalised,” Kindiki said.

"The 750km Isiolo-Mandera road project is being built by President Ruto. The construction work is already on and it will be finished within two years at a cost of Sh100 billion."

The DP was accompanied by the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
