Newly sworn Marsabit chief officers take over office

They promised to work towards serving and achieving the promise to the people of Marsabit County.

The newly sworn Marsabit county chief officers on Monday officially took over the office of chief officers in their respective departments.

Mohamed Tache will be in charge of ICT, Communication and Result Delivery while Mr Tache Elema takes over as chief officer of Partner coordination and Disaster management.

Roba Qoto is the new chief officer of the Directorate of Public Service and Devolved units in the Department of Administration, Cohesion and Disaster Management.

During the handover from Muktar Intallo Guracha who was the former chief officer in the department, the incoming chief officers thanked Governor Mohamud Ali for the appointment.

They promised to work towards serving and achieving the promise to the people of Marsabit County.

They met the senior staff in the department and reiterated the importance of teamwork in ensuring better service delivery and actualizing Governor Mohamud's transformation agendas.

CECM Administration, Cohesion and Disaster Management Mr Armara Galwab welcomed the new chief officers and assured them of his support in the implementation of the various programs and projects in line with the governor's manifesto.

Orge Guyo Baji has officially taken office as the new chief officer of the Directorate of Food Security and Crop.

She took over from Mr Sora Darso, the immediate former chief officer in the directorate.

"I want to thank the Governor for appointing me, I promise to work together with the technical team to achieve the agricultural agenda of the county boss," she said

She further promised to roll her sleeves and work with all the officers so as to mainstream the directorate's services to greater heights.

Welcoming his successor to the office during a handover ceremony held at the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Sora Darso thanked the administration for their support that has seen the department make great strides in service delivery.

Samuela Lolokuru has taken over as the chief officer in the Department of Culture, Gender and social services after being sworn in with others on Thursday last week.

Samuela was handed over to the office by the acting chief officer Annamaria Qalla Denge who was acting chief officer and current chief officer of public works.

During the handover ceremony, Annamaria welcomed Samuela and wished her well while assuring her support in ensuring service delivery to the Marsabit people.

 Samuela also met the top management in the Department of Culture, Gender and social services and assured them of her full support in the implementation of the programs and projects across the county.

She promised to promote teamwork in pushing the agenda of women and persons living with a disability.

Qabale Adhi Bulbul has officially assumed office as the new chief officer in the directorate of education.

She took over from her predecessor Samuela Lolokuru.

She assured staff in the directorate of education of maximum cooperation in the delivery of services to the great people of Marsabit, saying she is looking forward to delivering the governor's manifesto to the Department of Education, Youth and Sports.

The outgoing chief officer welcomed the new chief officer and congratulated her for her new role and wished her the best of luck as she begins her duty.

The newly sworn chief officer in the directorate of youth and sports Adan Ali Osman took over the office from his predecessor former chief officer Abdi Aila.

Adan began his transient speech by stating that his only mandate was delivering of governor's manifesto.

He acknowledged that amongst the technical staff and seasoned officers whom he has worked with in various engagements.

 Guyatu Wakala took over the office as the chief officer in the Directorate of Skills Development and Vocational Training in the Department of Education, Youth and Sports.

CECM Education, Youth and Sports Ambaro Abdullah welcomed the chief officer and assured her of support in the implementation of programs and projects that promote the agenda of youths in the county.

Guyatu, during the handover from Samuela Lolokuru, thanked the governor for believing in her leadership by appointing her to the directorate.

She promised to work tirelessly towards serving the people and make Governor Mohamud meet his expectation.

She noted that she expects teamwork and performance in addressing arising challenges and gaps in the directorate of Skills Development and Vocational training.

Dr Rikoi Hitler has officially taken over as the new chief officer for Roads and infrastructure from his predecessor acting chief officer Samuela Lolokuru.

Welcoming her successor to the office during the handover ceremony held at the Roads office, Samuela thanked Governor Mohamud-led administration for their support that has seen the department take a stride in service delivery.

Dr Rikoi thanked the governor for reappointing him and promised to work together with the technical team in realizing his legacy.

He was among the four out of 16 retaining their position as he previously served as the chief officer of fisheries.

The immediate former chief officer of Public Works Bishar Adan in his brief remarks during the handover said as the former chief officer, he has done his best in serving the people of Marsabit under the leadership of Governor Mohamud Ali.

His successor Annamaria Qalla Denge can take over from him and promised he will be available for any consultation.

The former Acting Chief officer Culture Annamaria took over the office from Bishar and thanked the governor for believing in her leadership skills.

While presiding handover ceremony in different departments, Deputy County Secretary Tari Doti and Chief of Staff Galm Golicha directed the officers to deliver on their mandate in accordance with the constitution and uphold service delivery.

"Every chief officer knows what is required of them. Be professional and adhere to set guidelines," said the chief of staff
