Marsabit County Governor Mohamud Ali has issued a stern warning to the newly appointed chief officers over laxity and poor service delivery.
The governor said during his first term, he was very lenient and didn't dismiss any of his officers but in his second and final term, heads will roll if he detect any weakness in their duties.
The county boss presided over the swearing-in of the new 24 chief officers.
Among the new chief officer are Boru Duba Dulacha (Finance), Qabale Adhi Bulbul (education), Adan Ali, department of Youth and Sport and Mohamed Tache the new chief officer for ICT, Communication and Result delivery among others.
He congratulated the new chief officers on their appointment after they went through a competitive, transparent and rigorous process in line with the requirements of the constitution and relevant laws governing appointment into public office.
He asked the new chief officers to cast aside their tribe and set the sails on the onerous task of serving the people of Marsabit.
He urged them to serve with integrity, shun interdepartmental wrangles and ensures that services and development projects are met to his expectation.
"None of the county officers has been sworn in not to serve a tribe or area where you come from. You have taken an oath to serve the people of Marsabit and you are now the face of the county," said Governor Mohamud.
