Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has told the Azimio team to prepare for a defeat by the Kenya Kwanza brigade, during the August polls.

Duale said the DP Willam Ruto-led team will win the elections in round one.

“We have the people, the numbers and our agenda resonates well with the majority who will turn up and vote,” he said.

The MP said their main goal is to ensure the poor have money in their pockets, unlike their competitors whose aim is to grab power, change the constitution and share positions.

Duale said a Raila presidency is being pushed by a few wealthy individuals who are after protecting their business interests at the expense of poor Kenyans.

“Kenyans can differentiate who cares and those whose interest is to safeguard their property and ensure the status quo is maintained,” the MP said.

“They should reject Raila who is a state project and adopt our bottom-up economic model.”

Duale spoke on Saturday in Garissa during UDA's grassroots leaders' consultation meeting.

He will defend his seat on a UDA ticket.

Duale urged the grassroots leaders to popularise and sell the UDA party because votes will be won by convincing people and not in rallies.

“Spread the hustler gospel and our bottom-up economic model. Tell the people, their interests will be safeguarded under a Ruto presidency,” he said.

The legislator said he had no time for clan politics because Garissa is a cosmopolitan and the voters will decide who becomes MP.

“I will go straight to the electorate as I have done in the last 15 years and present my scorecard, which they will use to rate me and decide whether to vote me back or not. The ultimate solution lies with them,” Duale said.
