ISIOLO governor-elect Godana Doyo and senator designate Mohamed Kuti yesterday promised to fulfil their campaign pledges to make the county a major development hub.

Doyo said he will use his time, and energy and volunteer his expertise to plan and set the ground for Isiolo's development ahead of the Vision 2030 government blue print.

Doyo said he will enhance communication and invest in roads, health and education. He said the Isiolo URP team will meet Deputy President-elect William Ruto to prioritise key issues. Doyo urged residents to welcome investors to help develop the town.

"Isiolo town is the centre of this country. We want to work with our opponents to open up the region to the rest of the country and make it an international hub," said Kuti during a homecoming rally.

Kuti said they will embrace cohesiveness and capitalise on the diversity of the communities to enhance development at the grassroot.

The two leaders pledged to unify the communities and work with their rivals to achieve the central government's plan to convert Isiolo town into a major resort city "to the level of a New York town in America".

"My appeal goes to our rivals in other parties, we must work together to achieve our promises and take the county to the next level," said the Kuti at Isiolo stadium. The Vision 2030 blueprint aims at turning Isiolo into a major resort city.
