Nairobi is set to host the first-ever Africa Trade Expo 2025 (ATE2025), a landmark business event aimed at unlocking new trade frontiers and showcasing the immense economic potential of East Africa.

Scheduled for August 8–10, the expo will take place at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa grounds, drawing hundreds of exhibitors, investors, and buyers from across the globe.

Organised by the Dawoodi Bohra community through Anjuman e Saifee Nairobi and Umoor Iqtesadiyah Nairobi (the community’s finance and business development arm), ATE2025 is being held under the vision and blessings of Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin Aqa TUS, the community’s spiritual leader.

“We celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurial independence, where businesses both big and small have the opportunity to break free from limitations, explore new possibilities, and build their own success,” said Shabbir A. Nomani, Chairman of the Dawoodi Bohra Community in Kenya.

ATE2025 will feature more than 200 exhibitors spanning eight critical sectors: real estate, manufacturing, construction materials, healthcare and services, information technology and innovation, green energy and sustainability, agribusiness and FMCGs and home and interiors.

The expo will serve as a unique platform where industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and government representatives can interact, form partnerships, and identify investment opportunities.

Tailored matchmaking services will also be offered to connect participants with potential partners, clients, and collaborators.

“With this Expo, we look forward to encouraging entrepreneurs to leverage the region's young and growing population, wealth of natural resources, and expanding infrastructure for the benefit of their businesses and ultimately the region's economies,” said Moiz Hassanali, Project Leader of ATE2025.

ATE2025 has drawn significant support from both local and international sponsors, underlining the event’s importance in the regional business calendar.

Platinum sponsors include: Fairdeal Properties, SMB Group, Fakhruddin Properties (Dubai), EMA Advisory, Hebatullah Group, Royal Group Kenya, Impala Group

Gold sponsors include: African Quest Safaris (official travel partner), Al-Fazal Saifaiya, AT Glass Limited, 1441 Sports and Fitness Trading, Dolphin Group from Dubai and Alvard Global Trade and Sunrich Companies – AGS from India.

Regional firms include Tanzania’s Multi Cable Limited, Tanzania Razor Blade Manufacturing, and Uganda’s Universal Multipurposes Enterprises Ltd.

The Dawoodi Bohra community, which traces its roots to Yemen and India, has had a century-long presence in East Africa and is widely respected for its entrepreneurial spirit and commercial networks.

The very name "Bohra" comes from the Gujarati word vohurvu, meaning “to trade,” symbolising their historical dedication to business and ethical commerce.

With the launch of ATE2025, the community seeks not only to celebrate its business legacy but also to create a shared platform for regional growth, innovation, and economic integration.
