Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has maintained that he will become Nairobi’s fifth governor in 2027.

The ODM legislator has expressed his confidence that he will either unseat or replace Governor Johnson Sakaja even if they go head to head in the ballot.

“Definitely. That I can tell you, 101 percent. He (Sakaja) is a placeholder...Sakaja has been put there to clean the way for me,” Babu said during an interview on YouTube early this week.

He was responding to a question on whether he stood a chance of taking over Nairobi.

The second-term MP  termed himself as the best politician adding that he's popular in the current government.

“Tell me, If you look at the current MCAs, senators, and even governors, do you see anyone better than me?” Babu Owino posed.

Since his childhood days, Babu said he knew that he would enter into politics.

"I have always known that I have always been a leader way from the time I was in primary school. I definitely knew that after campus I would get into politics," he added.

Babu revealed that he used to be mocked when people heard him say that he would be an MP one day.

"Like the way I know I will be a President one day I remember way back I had an interview with Husseiin Mohammed and he asked me my thoughts on the future.

"I told him in 2017 I would be an MP and people could think I was joking and even mocked me as to why I was revealing my plans," said.

"I’m telling Kenyans that if you have a plan say it ..brilliance dictates that you say it and work towards it,"  Babu added.
