Cop nicknamed 'Lucky' killed by Donholm motorcycle gunmen

A police constable nicknamed Lucky, was shot dead as he walked into the Vumilia slums of Doholm area, Nairobi.

Detectives are investigating how and why Constable Lucky Mungereza Tsuma was killed on Friday, September 16. He was shot in the chest and left eye by gunmen who escaped on a motorcycle.

He had been attached to the Buruburu police station.

Residents told police they heard gunshots from where Tsuma's body was found but didn't know what happened.

Police learned two pillion passengers escaped on a motorbike after the shooting.

At the time he was killed, Tsuma had his police pocket phone, a baton, name tag and a reflector jacket.

Police recovered a 9mm spent cartridge,a 9mm bullet head of and his wallet containing  Sh4,850.

The motive for the killing is yet to be established.

The body was moved to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.

Detectives were sent to the area and said they had made progress but did not make headway on the possible killers and motives.

Meanwhile, police are hunting down a gang that fatally shot a motorist who was driving into his compound in Thigio area, Kikuyu, Kiambu county.

The gang had been lying in wait for his arrival.

The motive was not established.

Police said the gang shot him in the shoulder and left him in his car with the engine running as he waited for the gate to be opened.

His wife found him when she opened the gate.

The body was moved to a motortuary for an autopsy.
