The leaders from Igembe South, Igembe Central and Igembe North travelled with some of Mwangaza’s supporters to her office at the county headquarters said they had missed the governor’s development tours to the region since her last visit three months ago.

“We started the journey from different constituencies as early as 3 am. We walked through the night to meet our beloved governor. We were not involved in discrediting your Okolea One Cow Per Household programme. We are sorry, visit the Igembe region from today,” Agnes Kawiria said.

Chief officer James Mutia who also hails from Igembe thanked the crowd for their unwavering support for the Mwangaza’s administration.

There has been a political backlash in the region due to Mwangaza’s reported differences with her Deputy Mutuma M’Ethingia and the murder of blogger Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper.

"Expressing solidarity with my development agenda, they underscored their openness to embracing and actively participating in the implementation of county government initiatives that are aimed at fostering growth and prosperity in Igembe region."

Mwangaza said her assurance and commitment is to inclusive governance, promising to work  with all stakeholders to uplift the livelihoods of the residents of Igembe.

“They took a firm stance against the few critics who have sought to undermine my administration's development efforts in the area. They affirmed their belief in constructive dialogue and cooperation as the pathways to addressing challenges and realising the collective aspirations of the people of Igembe,” Mwangaza said.
