He further, asked the health workers in the county to make schedule screening of locals at churches, and village gatherings among other public places so as to track down those who need medical care.

While addressing locals during the same meeting, the head of non-communicable diseases in Makueni Dr Joseph Mulei revealed that statistics made available showed that Thange ward was worst affected by non - communicable diseases.

He said one in every four people across the County suffered from high blood pressure.

Blood pressure is the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries.

Arteries carry blood from the heart to other parts of your body.

Blood pressure normally rises and falls throughout the day.

A normal blood pressure level is less than 120/80 mmHg.

High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is blood pressure that is higher than normal.

The higher your blood pressure levels, the more risk you have for other health problems, such as heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.
