Each of the five community conservancies contributed 5 per cent of its revenue from NKCRP last financial year.

The NKRCP is the first project to connect rangeland restoration and livestock grazing planning to direct financial benefits for herders and local communities.

The project provides communities with long-term, sustainable revenue, channelled directly to communities through their respective conservancies.

Guyo urged the people of Isiolo to embrace proper rangeland management practices such as controlled grazing patterns and tree planting to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change

The practices will generate more carbon credits for sale in the international voluntary market with the proceeds directly benefitting residents.
