The former vice president, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday held rallies at Mwingi town.
Kalonzo, who was speaking in Kisovo area of Mwingi West subcounty told residents to ignore being muddled by the confusion brought about by Ruto’s UDA wave.
The Wiper party leader had welcomed the DP to tour his region before insisting that he has to answer where he gets the money which he donates across the country.
He added that everyone knows the salaries of every government official.
Kalonzo insisted that for the time the DP has been in office, the country’s economy has been crippled. Companies like Kenya Power and Lighting Cooperation have been financially crippled following leaders’ massive looting.
"The money being given all over is now being used to bribe Kenyans after it was stolen from different firms. Following the loot, electricity bills have gone up and this has chased away investors," he added.
Kalonzo, while selling his manifesto said education will be free from nursery schools up to secondary level.
He also said the tax is so high and if reduced by 50 per cent Kenyans would not depend on handouts as currently witnessed in the country.
Kalonzo spoke in Kisovo market while attending a school fee fund drive.
The Wiper Party Leader was accompanied by Kitui Women Representative, Irene Kasalu, Mwingi West MP, Charles Nguna, Mwingi North MP and Paul Nzengu.
A few hours later, the Deputy President held a rally for the first time in Mwingi town.
Ruto said improving the country’s economy through his bottom-up economy will put the country in a position to secure employment for the youths.
"Our priority is to secure employment for the youths who have since indulged in drug abuse and crime while others have fallen into depression," he added.
The DP insisted that, unlike OKA principals, he is not after securing government positions but bettering the economy of the country, as well as empowering the persons undertaking micro, small and medium enterprises.
"We will commit Sh50 billion annually to enable small businesses to operate without financial constraints," he said.
