Public Affairs Strategist and Communication Consultant Elkana Jacob has called on Kenyans, particularly residents of Nyali Constituency, to embrace their sovereign democratic right by registering in large numbers and voting with integrity as the nation approaches the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a civic engagement forum, Jacob underscored the centrality of the people’s power in shaping Kenya’s political future.
Quoting the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, he noted that Article 1(1) affirms that all sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya and must only be exercised in accordance with the Constitution.
He also emphasised Article 38, which guarantees every citizen the right to make free political choices, including the right to vote.

“The year 2027 is not just another election season,” Jacob said.
“It will be a defining opportunity for Kenyans to elect leaders who are genuine stewards of the people and not merely seekers of power.”
He highlighted Chapter Six of the Constitution, which deals with Leadership and Integrity, describing it as the benchmark for evaluating those seeking public office.
According to him, the chapter requires leaders to embody honesty, accountability, transparency, and a sincere commitment to serve.
Jacob urged citizens to resist the temptation of making electoral choices based on political parties, family background, tribal affiliations, or religious divides. Instead, he encouraged voters to evaluate candidates based on integrity, authentic community connection, and a clear vision to uplift livelihoods.
“Our votes must reflect a new consciousness,” he stressed. “We must focus on leaders who offer solutions rather than slogans, and who are guided by values instead of vested interests.”
Jacob particularly appealed to Nyali residents to turn out in large numbers to register as voters and prepare to participate actively in the 2027 polls.
He described voter registration as the first crucial step in shaping both the constituency’s and the nation’s future.
“This is the moment for Nyali to lead by example. Let us register in large numbers and vote with purpose. The future of our children depends on the decisions we make today,” he declared.
Elkana, a master's holder in criminology from The University of Nairobi and a PhD student who has majored in security, crime, and entertainment said that matters humanity with his foundation and Team Elkana Jacob Mashinani are what make him feel the heart of humanity and standing firm with people.
“Our people are the foundation, we should always be there with them & for them. It is time we should show what humanity is all about and not greediness.” He added
