The Kenya National Highways Authority ha notified the public to use alternative routes over traffic snarl up at the Kinale section along Naivasha-Rironi (A8) Road.
The authority in a statement on it official X platform said the traffic snarl up has been occasioned by the high volume of traffic as motorists rush back to the city.
"Earlier there was registered a non-injury accident at the section and motorists became impatient and started to overlap causing a gridlock,"KeNHA said.
"The police have cleared the accident scene and are on the ground trying to marshal traffic."
The motorists have been encouraged to use alternative routes including the Rironi - Mai Mahiu - Naivasha (A8-S).
