Tobiko opposes High Court decision to halt Gethi, Kabura NYS case

DPP Keriako Tobiko has opposed the High Court's decision to halt a case against 11 suspects in the Sh791 million NYS scandal.Tobiko said on Thursday that only one suspect, lawyer Patrick Ogola, filed an application saying prosecutions were unlawful.He said this meant only Ogola's prosecution should have been considered.

DPP Keriako Tobiko has opposed the High Court's decision to halt a case against 11 suspects in the Sh791 million NYS scandal.

Tobiko said on Thursday that only one suspect, lawyer Patrick Ogola, filed an application saying prosecutions were unlawful.

He said this meant only Ogola's prosecution should have been considered. The lawyer said the criminal charges should be halted pending the hearing and determination of his case.

Other suspects in the case are businessman Ben Gethi, businesswoman cum hairdresser Josephine Kabura and Jedidah Wangui.

The rest are John Kago, a driver at KCB, Samwel Wachenje alias Sam Mwadim, Anthony Kihara, Paul Gachoka, John Vandamme and Martin Wanjohi.

The High Court their prosecution on Tuesday concerning the laundering Sh791 million from the National Youth Service.

Justice George Odunga issued the orders after the application by Ogola.
