Agala, Makokha win the Mombasa beach volleyball tour

The experienced duo  got the better of Phosca Kasisi and Yvonn Wavinya following their 2-1 at the New Big Tree beach as the two day tournament ended on Sunday.

The pair of Gaudencia Makokha and Brackcides Agala are the winners of the Deep Heat national beach volleyball tour, Mombasa.

The experienced duo got the better of Phosca Kasisi and Yvonn Wavinya following their 2-1 win at the New Big Tree beach as the two-day tournament ended on Sunday.

The winners bagged the first set 21-18 before their rivals restored parity by winning the second 17-12. Agala and Makokha steered clear by winning the tiebreaker 15-10.

In the men's category, the Kenya international duo of Ibrahim Oduor and James Mwaniki came from a set down to claim victory against Cornelius Kiplagat and Nicholas Lagat.

They lost the opening set 21-16 before winning the subsequent two 18-21 and 14-16. 

In the third-place playoff, Naomi Too and Veronica Adhiambo got the better of Noel Murambi and Daily Jepkosgei 2-0 in straight sets of 21-15 and 21-9.
