In courts today

A Magistrates Court will issue directions in a case in which Social media influencer Francis Gaitho denied charges of publishing false information claiming the DCI arrested the wrong person as the prime suspect in the Kware killings.

Gaitho who appeared in court last month further denied two charges of publishing false information on X and cyber harassment on alleged Githurai and Rongai killings and missing persons.

It is alleged that on July 15, 2024, at around 1400 hours while at an unknown place using his X social media account, he intentionally published the false information.

The prosecution alleged that Gaitho wrote the information with the intent that the data would be considered or acted upon as authentic.

The other charge indicated that on the same dates and place while using his X account he published false information on an innocent Kenyan over the Kware killings when he knowingly or ought to have known that such publications would cause the person's apprehension and violence to him, damage or loss of his property.

Separately a different court is set to start the hearing of Alinur Muhammed Bulle who was also charged with publishing false information implicating State House spokesperson Hussein Muhammed.

He was charged on the same day Gaitho was arraigned.

Bulle was accused that on July 15, 2024, at around 1408 hours using his X handle, published false information claiming Hussein said that his ethics could not sustain the propaganda by the government and he would better resign than compromise his principles.
