Clergy to state: Punish those behind alleged fake fertiliser supply

The National Council of Churches of Kenya has asked President Ruto to ensure proper investigations is done into the allegations of fake fertiliser.

Church leaders have asked President William Ruto to ensure proper investigations is done into the allegations of fake fertiliser. 

The National Council of Churches of Kenya has also asked Ruto to ensure those involved are punished for destroying the government's name and exposing Kenyans to a risk.

"Kenyans' food is threatened and the fertility of their farms damaged," NCCK Nairobi region chairman Rev Alphonse Kanga said.

"We call upon the president to ensure speedy and judicious punishment of all those found culpable."

He spoke at Jumuiya Conference and Country Home in Limuru sub county during the regions elections.

Kanga was retained to lead the region while Rev Canon Charles Chege will be his vice.

Others are treasurer Jeremiah Otido, women representative Martha Kihika, youth representative is George Mutembei and people with disabilities will be represented by Samson Waweru.

Kanga also asked Health CS Susan Nakhumicha to ensure doctors strike is resolved.

He said those who are suffering are poor Kenyans who need urgent medical attention.

“We have witnessed patients crying in pain. They cannot go to private hospitals since they cannot afford. Some had appointments with doctors and the dates are gone. We have a problem and it needs urgent attention” he said.

The clergy also pointed out on the corruption issue asking Ruto to remain firm on his war against corruption.
