Governor in trouble as disillusioned ally plots his downfall

A long-serving MCA from a cosmopolitan county has fallen in trouble with the county governor. Reason? The man, who’s been the governor’s ears and eyes in the county assembly, has allegedly betrayed the county chief. It has emerged that the ward rep has been the main informer of the rival camp that has been fighting the governor. Moles say that the man has been revealing to the camp the governor’s underhand dealings, something that the group has now used to unleash attacks on the county boss. The governor has got wind of the betrayal with reports indicating the county chief has promised to teach him a lesson.

A senior leader of one of the top political parties recently dressed down an MP. The leader is said to have told off the legislator in the presence of his colleagues over his controversial posts on social media. The legislator has been making controversial statements on social media regarding government policies. He has been ‘embarrassing’ the state with posts that sometimes contradict the government position. The MP was told to stop henceforth or face the party’s wrath. The MP was forced to issue an apology in an embarrassing situation.

A massive protest looms in Ruaraka constituency in Nairobi due to conduct of some police officers. The officers are allegedly harassing residents, including matatu operators plying the area. The officers are said to demand heavy bribes from matatu operators with those who decline to give the cash facing trumped up charges. Their vehicles are allegedly towed to the station. The matatu touts and the residents are now plotting to stage a major demo to protest the conduct of the officers who they say have become a nuisance.
