Meru DG asks Ruto, Gachagua for help after fallout with Mwangaza

He said the ongoing standoff will hamper service delivery.

Meru Deputy Governor Mutuma M'Ethingia called for calm following the relocation of his office from the new County Headquarters to the former main offices.

Mutuma in a press address said it is within the mandate of the governor to re-organize her government.

"I Reverend Mutuma, your humble servant fully support her. I am ready to work from anywhere as long as we offer good services to the people of Meru," Mutuma said at Gatimene Gardens on Thursday during a Press Briefing.

Mutuma appealed to President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua to intervene and resolve the political impasse in Meru County.

"Without peace in Meru County, we are not able to implement H.E President's pledges to Kenyans through the bottom-up economic transformative agenda," he said.

"We need to support the President's commitment to reducing the cost of living by offering good health care, and affordable housing, promoting a digital and blue economy and encouraging fund consumption for our people to grow SME's businesses. We need to work together for the common good of our people."

Mutuma noted the operations at her office were crippled due to lack of funds.

"I have been running a public office with my own money. The official vehicle of the Deputy Governor in the recent past has not been fueled as expected. Since April 2023, my office secretariat has been reduced to zero personnel or withdrawn without notice," Mutuma said.

Speaking at Katheri Thursday, Governor Mwangaza she is ready to defend public money and whoever comes her way, she is ready to deal with her accordingly.
