Former cabinet secretary Sicily Kariuki on Sunday kicked off campaigns for her governor bid with the launch of her manifesto at Ol'Kalou shopping centre, Nyandarua county.

Sicily is seeking to oust the incumbent governor Francis Kimemia on a Jubilee party ticket.

Speaking during the launch, Sicily assured residents that she is the best bet for the seat saying she will deliver quality services to residents.

Also present during the launch is Jubilee majority leader Amos Kimunya.

She said once elected, her administration will tackle the issues of infrastructure and unemployment among youths.

The former CS claimed the county has about 97 per cent of youths who aren't employed yet they're educated.

Sicily further noted that she will ensure that the first job opportunities will be given to locals before outsourcing from other Counties

"In Nyandarua County, we have a lot of problems that will be addressed by my government. I know I will deliver on what am promising," she said.

She pledged to partner with the national government for youths to be incorporated into National Youth Service as well as police forces.

On Agriculture, the former CS said she will equip farmers with the necessary skills to produce more and also seek the market for their products.

"My administration will partner with anyone who will add value to our County. Within my 100 days in office, all roads network will be upgraded," she said.
