Suspect in Kiambu court over forgery of land documents

A man facing four counts of forgery was granted Sh5 million bail or alternative Sh5 million bond by a Kiambu court yesterday.

Patrick Mbugua was arraigned before senior principal magistrate Stella Atambo. He was accused of forging title deeds for 2.1 acres worth Sh70 million. He denied wrongdoing.

Defence counsels asked to be supplied with documents the prosecution will rely on and pleaded with the court to give Mbugua reasonable bond terms.

The prosecution, led by Donnex Ongira, did not oppose the bail application but urged the court to consider the nature of the matter in granting bond or bail. Atambo directed that the case be mentioned on December 13 and heard on February 26 next year.
