Lari legislator Mburu Kahangara has bought land for the expansion of a secondary school.
The students of Gitithia Girls, which is on 0.9 acres, did not have a playground and space for agriculture practicals.
Speaking during the prize-giving day at the school on Monday, Kahangara said four classrooms and a block of latrines funded by CDF were constructed on the playing field last year.
“Even before we put up the structures, the field could not suffice for a football pitch,” he said.
Kahangara said he requested the Pyrethrum Board of Kenya to sell an acre of its land near the school.
The PBK requested the CDF office to buy it an alternative plot at Gitithia, which was being sold by Okoa Shilingi Group.
“We bought the Okoa Shilingi land and we will exchange it with PBK. We have booked an appointment with the Lands board so we exchange the title deeds,” Kahangara said.
