Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua has asked police manning Businessman Jimi Wanjigi's Muthaiga home to leave.

While addressing the police outside Wanjigi's home, Karua said the family desires to be left in peace without disturbance.

Karua further threatened a lawsuit against the police for failure to withdraw from the home.

"Hii sio camp ya polisi, hii ni nyumba ya mwenyewe na familia ingetaka kukaa kwa utulivu bila kubabaika, mmefanya yale mmefanya, sasa tunawaomba muondoke bila kukawia," she said .

(This is not a police camp, this is somebody's home and the family would want to live in peace without disturbance. You have done whatever you have done and we ask you to leave without fail).

"Let them consult among themselves but we expect them to withdraw immediately or come with a court order."

Karua was accompanied by DAP Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa among other leaders.

On Thursday, a multi-agency security team broke into Wanjigi's Muthaiga home to seek his arrest in vain.

The team had camped outside his Nairobi house, number 44 in Muthaiga seeking to get into the compound for hours before they finally broke in.

They then embarked on a search in the house while looking for Wanjigi and what they termed as "more evidence".

The police alleged that they recovered tear gas canisters from his alleged car that was found parked at the entrance to his Muthaiga home in Nairobi.

Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli said they are looking for Wanjigi.

“We intercepted a personal motor vehicle in Muthaiga at the residence of Jimi Wanjigi. In the vehicle we have recovered four teargas canisters, two Motorola gadgets, seven assorted chargers for the pocket phones and one mobile phone,” he said.

The IG further asked Wanjigi to surrender himself for questioning.

Wanjigi, however, hours later claimed that he was not the owner of the motor vehicle that was allegedly found with tear gas canisters during the Nane Nane demonstrations in Nairobi.

"I believe that the IG has no legitimate grounds for arresting me or presenting myself to any police station as demanded or preferring criminal charges against me," he says.

Wanjigi in a case filed at the Milimani Law Courts said he is being framed in a bid to settle political scores.

He termed the claims "as usual lies the police are used to" and vowed to show the world how they planted them.
