President William Ruto has arrived at Konza Technopolis City in Makueni County.
Ruto arrived at the venue minutes past 9.00 am, Thursday and he is expected to award a charter for The Open University of Kenya.
The president is also expected to inspect various development projects within the city.
The varsity will operate under the theme 'The Innovative University for Inclusive Prosperity.
The head of state has been accompanied by various leaders from both the national government and the Ukambani region.
Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr is the host together with Machakos deputy governor Francis Mwangangi.
Other leaders present include MPs Caleb Mule (Machakos town), Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi West), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Senators Dan Maanzo (Makueni) and his Machakos counterpart Agnes Kavindu and Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua.
