ANC's Ernest Kagesi defends Vihiga MP seat

He got 13,890 votes against his closest rival Ken Vitisia who managed 10,551 votes.

Vihiga constituency IEBC returning officer officially declares incumbent MP Ernest Kagesi winner of the August 9, 2022 general election.

Vihiga MP Ernest Kagesi has been re-elected for a second term at the August 9 general election.

The incumbent MP was declared the by the Vihiga constituency returning officer Hudson Salenoi.

Kagesi defended the seat on the Amani Nationa Congress (ANC) party ticket.

The lawmaker garnered 13,890 votes against his closest rival Ambassador Ken Vitisia of ODM who got 10,551 votes.

Former MP Yusuf Chanzu of UDA who also contested for the seat managed 4,723 votes, Emily Nyabuto (PPoK) got 392 votes while Everyline Minayo (CCM) came in last with 340 votes.

Vihiga constituency had 52,289 registered votes as per the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission official records.
