The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) is set to release the 2024 economic survey today.
The report is an annual publication that provides socioeconomic information covering five years.
Statistics presented in the Economic Survey are produced in line with internationally sound and scientific methods that are anchored on the fundamental principles of producing official statistics.
In particular, the report presents information on all sectors of the economy based on the Kenya Standard Industrial Classification of all Economic Activities (KESIC), as well as information on other emerging topical issues.
KBC MD Agnes Kalekye to takeover position
KBC Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Agnes Kalekye will today take office officially at the Broadcasting House.
The event will take place at 9:30 am.
Kalekye was appointed to the position on Friday by Information, Communications (ICT), and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.
He noted that the appointment will run for three years.
Before the appointment, Kalekye was Chief Operating Officer at The Star Publications and she is the incumbent Chair of the Media Owners Association.
"We wish Ms. Nguna well in her new role and the Ministry looks forward to her working closely with the Board of Directors in the revitalisation of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation as envisaged," Owalo said in a statement to newsrooms.
KBC had shortlisted eight candidates for the position of managing director.
KBC advertised the role on February 13, 2024.
