B Lab Africa, the organisation responsible for certifying B Corporations (B Corps) across Africa, convened a transformative event today at Strathmore University.

The B Lab Africa Summit brought together an array of sustainable business leaders, investors, climate experts, youth entrepreneurs, government officials, and advocates to collectively address pressing challenges facing the continent.

The summit centered its discussions on key issues such as climate change mitigation, sustainable economic growth, financing for social impact, fostering entrepreneurship, and combating youth unemployment.

Participants engaged in robust dialogues, sharing insights and strategies to drive positive social and environmental impact across the African continent.

The event underscored the pivotal role that B Corps play in shaping a sustainable future for Africa.

If we foster collaboration among sustainable business leaders, investors, and other stakeholders, we can accelerate the positive transformation of our continent," said the CEO of B Lab Africa, Lucy Muigai.

The B Lab Africa Summit drew participants from a diverse range of sectors, including businesses and individuals committed to sustainability, stakeholders seeking new markets and financing opportunities, impact investors, venture capitalists, development finance organizations, capacity-building organizations, accelerators, research and academic institutions, and B Corp-certified businesses.

So far, Africa has over 60 B Corps and 5500+ companies utilising B Lab's impact measurement tools across the continent. A few certified B Corps in Africa include Danone, WeLight Madagascar, Bio Foods, Greenspoon and Mr. Green Africa.
