President William Ruto’s housing agenda has received a major boost after Unity Homes completed 10 per cent of its Sh5.4 billion affordable housing project at Tatu City.

Yesterday, the developer handed over 64 of 640 houses in the 10.4 acre project that commenced in November 2, 2021.

The units are priced between $63,750 (Sh7.65 million) for cash buyers and $73,750 (Sh8.85 million) for investors who choose the flexible 24-month payment plan or mortgage financing.

The affordable housing by the developer is in line with the president’s  plan on delivering affordable housing to Kenyans.

The plan seeks to increase supply of new housing to 250,000 per annum and percentage of affordable housing supply from two per cent to 50 per cent.

According to the developer, the Sh5.4 billion investment, is on track to complete 640 apartments amid rapid uptake by buyers.

The executive director of Unity Homes, Jason Horsey, said the development  targets both investors and homeowners with an exceptionally high-quality home that ensures attractive capital gains, returns for investors and a homely and secure community.

“Unity East is a fusion of contemporary lifestyle and community with enchanting park views and expansive outdoor amenities that creates a truly lucrative opportunity for any investor and an ultra-modern all-inclusive lifestyle for residents,” Horsey said.

The developer has consistently pushed down the pricing scale since its inception to support the government’s affordable housing agenda.

“We are pleased to support the government’s home ownership agenda. As with all of Unity Homes projects for a very reasonable price ,the apartments will all be finished to the same excellent standard,” Horsey noted

The project comes third after the developer  completed Unity West in Tatu City last year and Unity Gardens, in Eldoret, in 2018.

The last two subsequent projects are located five-minute walk from the restaurants and shops of Tatu Central, the Central Business District (CBD) of Tatu City.

According to the developer, over 500 direct jobs have been created  on the Unity East project and has upskilled workers from general labourers to skilled workers.

This has in turn made them earn more than twice as much as they would as general laborers.

Horsey further explained that they have had over two years of incredible sales velocity due to their  diverse product portfolio that caters for a broad array of buyers who are purchasing up to 50 apartments monthly.

Unity Homes recently launched its latest project, Silver Hill at Tatu City, which features 100 designed townhouses.
