Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has said Sirisia MP John Waluke is still a friend of the Kenya Kwanza brigade.
He said the MP ditched the camp for Azimio la Umoja so that he could be cleared to defend his seat after he was threatened by the 'deep state'.
Speaking in Mayuba Stadium, Sirisia, on Friday during a Kenya Kwanza rally, Sudi said those harassing Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja also lack academic credentials.
“The person behind Sakaja’s trouble has no genuine academic papers but has taken advantage of being in the deep state to intimidate our supporters,” Sudi said.
He said Sakaja will still be on the ballot and will win the election.
Sudi said he has been in a similar situation Sakaja is in.
He urged Senator Sakaja to be patient, saying this is just politics and he will be allowed to vie after the probe is completed.
“Sakaja is a young man and we have seen his wonderful job. Let him be allowed to vie because his academic credentials are genuine," Sudi said.
Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, who was present during the rally, said the region has been backing Raila Odinga over the years but after his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta he took all development to his Nyanza backyard.
“Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula and ANC's Musalia Mudavadi have walked with Raila and after winning Uhuru over, he was given a huge percentage of development which he never remembered to share with the western region,” he said.
Malala urged residents not to vote for William Ruto.
