PS Audio Visual Chief Executive Officer Ciru Kiiru is reinventing event management by bringing in creativity to make people feel more engaged during an event.
Kiiru said she aims to create audiovisual experiences that go above human expectations and beyond human limitations.
"We realised that people want more engagement for events. They don't want to just sit. They want an opportunity to network and hold conversations," she said.
Kiiru spoke as she launched the Experience PS concept in Nairobi.
In Experience PS, Kiiru said acting, music, dance and singing are combined with audiovisual and three-D graphics to tell a story.
She said Experience PS can be used in engagement with audiences during parties and events.
Kiiru, who has over ten years of experience in event management, termed Experience PS as an extension of the creative side of event management.
"We also do live events and PS Production which is more of hybrid meetings and webinars. This was necessitated by the Covid pandemic," she said.
Kiiru said translation and interpretation of languages are also key during events, especially when multiple languages are used.
"During the Climate Change Summit people were speaking multiple languages and they needed our interpretation equipment which we delivered," she said.
Kiiru said she has to be creative in her job as many people out there also have equipment to do event management.
"Equipment is just equipment. But if you are intentional to make sure that people would network and engage more using artificial intelligence or augmented reality all of these elements make the event memorable," she said.
Her organisation is an integrated technical, consulting, planning, design and implementation provider for professional events operating within Africa.
"We specialise in the event technology process from conceptualisation to execution including, supplier management, venue selection and branding," Kiiru said.
Kiiru said she rents out Audio-Visual technology including sound, screens, lighting, staging, live streaming services and interactive technology.
Kiiru said she inherited the business from her mother who founded PS Audio Visual in 2001.
"This was my late mum's business and I just could not sit down and see people taking from this business. I had a wonderful mentor, my father, he coached me and I learnt," she said.
